Art for Change along with friends organized a five day theatre workshop with renowned mime artist Carlos Martínez in New Delhi between 29th September - 3 October, 2025. The program was arranged around his performance at the Stein Auditorium at the India Habitat Center on the 4th October, 2025.

Carlos Martínez, renowned mime actor from Spain, creates a world of imaginative silence that reflects his Mediterranean spirit and humour, brought to life through precise technique and rhythm. His universally understood language has taken him across the globe—performing at conventions, festivals, on television, and in theatres. He received the Special WMO Award from the “World Mime Organisation” for his outstanding contribution to the art of mime. For the first time in India, Carlos Martínez will share his decades of expertise in a unique workshop tailored for performance and theatre professionals. 

During the workshops, Carlos engaged with 3 theatre artists on various techniques and aspects about mime, delving further into philosophy, topics of life and more. With various exercises Carlos brought forth various opportunities for the artists to learn, practice and grow in their art forms, process and concepts in theatre. We had positive feedback from the artists for Carlos and the workshops.
During Carlos’ time in India, he was able to visit galleries, cultural spaces and meet artists and make new friends.
