Painted during an artist residency run by Art for Change in response to the issue of Female Foeticide. It is estimated that 500,000 girls are lost due to sex-selecive abortion due to a preference for sons. The the artist based this painting on ‘New Guernica,’ a painting he had made prior to the residency while in contemplation at an ashram on the outskirts of Delhi.
